What is KYC/KRA and how to check its status?
About KYC/KRA:
KRA provides for centralization of the KYC records in the securities market. The client who is desirous of opening an account/trade/deal with the SEBI registered Intermediary shall submit the KYC details through the KYC Registration form and supporting documents. The Intermediary shall perform the initial KYC and upload the details on the system of the KYC Registration Agency (KRA). This KYC information can be accessed by all the SEBI Registered Intermediaries while dealing with the same client. As a result, once the client has done KYC with a SEBI registered intermediary, he need not undergo the same process again with another intermediary. In case of any change in KYC details, please submit a change request form along with the supporting documents with any broker, DP, mutual fund etc. with whom you transact.

To identify the KYC Registration Agency (KRA) with which your KYC is registered, check the KRA and KYC Status column.

What does each KYC status imply?

| Under process | This status indicates that the account was recently opened and it takes approximately 5 days for the KYC to be updated | Please wait for the KYC process to be completed |
| On-hold or rejected | This status appears when the existing broker did not update the details with accurate information and documents | Submit a new KYC form along with supportin documents such as a self-attested PAN copy and address proof |
